Bon Suter - Teacher
Bon's enthusiasm has encouraged healing for those working with her at Burwood Hospital where she worked as Arts Coordinator, setting up the
Arts programme for Parafed, Canterbury and also at Hillmorton Hospital where she worked with patients to create a large sculpture
as a permanent monument to recovery.
Bon continued her special work by conceiving and creating the Te Pani Trust, a sculpture workshop to support people with different needs. For the past 20 years, Donald Gibson, a deaf/blind sculptor has benefited
from Bon's support and tutoring.
She has organised and participated in stone symposiums both nationally and internationally, also representing Christchurch at our sister city,
Adelaide Art Festival.
Many people have visited and enjoyed the peace and harmony with nature to be found in the Sculpture Garden which Bon has created on the edge of the sand
dunes, opposite her home and studio/gallery in South Brighton.
